KUWAIT: Embassy of India, Kuwait celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights and Ayurveda Day on Tuesday. The day marked the birth anniversary of 'Dhanvantri' and is celebrated as Ayurveda Day. Ayurveda is an alternative medicine system with historical roots in India.

Indian Ambassador Sibi George welcomed members of Indian diaspora, Kuwaiti guests, and people from media fraternity and persons who joined the ceremony virtually and greeted them on the occasion of Diwali. In his address, he underlined the crucial role being played by Ayurveda in bringing balance to people's lives and keeping them away from many lifestyle diseases, a press release issued by the embassy said.

A video address by Indian Prime Minister of Narendra Modi at COP26 Summit in Glasgow was also screened. The ceremony has also seen live yoga performances by citizens of different nationalities. A variety of cultural programs was also presented by the members of Indian diaspora, showcasing the vibrant colors of Indian culture on the occasion of Diwali, the release added.
