KUWAIT: Embassy of India, Kuwait, organized the 'National Unity Day' on Monday at the Embassy. Delivering the inaugural remarks, Indian Embassy First Secretary Dr Vinod Gaikwad extended warm greetings to all Indians in Kuwait and friends of India in Kuwait on the occasion of National Unity Day.  National Unity Day is celebrated every year on 31 October to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, first home minister of India.

A national unity pledge was administered by Indian Embassy First Secretary Smita Patil. India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi's national unity day address was played on the occasion wherein he reiterated the central virtue of unity as one of five principles to guide the next 25 years of 'AmritKaal', ahead of the centennial celebration of Indian Independence in 2047.

A cultural program with patriotic dance and songs and an exhibition of Sardar Vallabhai Patel was also organized on the occasion. In the run-up to National Unity Day, the Embassy of India, Kuwait in association with Indian schools in Kuwait organized several events including special unity human chains and unity runs in which hundreds of Indian students participated. A digital exhibition was held across the embassy's social media platforms along with a special session dedicated on the life of Sardar Patel. The event witnessed enthusiastic response with people from different walks life in Kuwait.
