KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah stressed the sound deployment of, and vigilance by, the security personnel during the holy month of Ramadan.

During his meeting with assistant undersecretaries of his ministry and field commanders, the minister called for closer cooperation with the citizens of foreign residents as part of the plan to ensure safety during the month of fasting. The meeting gathered Undersecretary of the Ministry Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad, according to a statement by the Ministry's Security Media Department.

Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the advent of the holy month and expressed best wishes for His Highness the Amir and the dear homeland. He commended the level of the preparedness of the security personnel and their ability to implement the Ramadan security plan, saying that he will personally oversee the implementation.

Meanwhile, Lt Gen Fahad made a presentation on the various aspects of the security plan, including the traffic and precautionary measures. The plan envisages deployment of security personnel and patrols near the places of worship, shopping malls and through main streets to ensure smooth flow of the traffic, he said. Lt Gen Fahad highlighted the significance of the minister's instructions for strict coordination among the various sectors of the ministry to implement the plan. - KUNA
