KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh reaffirmed the commitment of Kuwait's political leadership to the upgrading of the security institution and providing it with the state-of-the-art equipment. "Constant modernization of all sectors of the Ministry of Interior is a top priority for political leadership in order to help the security institution discharge its mission in the best possible way," the minister said in a press release from the Ministry's General Directorate of Security Relations and Media.

Saleh made the comments while opening the operations center and the emergency operator (112) at the ministry's headquarters in Subhan on Sunday. "The center reflects the level of advancement of the security institution and its continued effort to acquire the latest communication technologies and maintain high preparedness of the security personnel," the minister added.

After inaugurating the operations center and the emergency switch, the minister was briefed by member of the Col Dr Abdullah Zakaria, member of the committee of the integrated digital security project, on the new system and operating mechanism related to response to emergency calls. Saleh was accompanied by Undersecretary of the Ministry Lt Gen Esam Al-Nahham, assistant undersecretaries Maj Gen Jamal Al-Saygh and Maj Gen Staff Aziz Suaylem, as well other senior officers, according to the statement. - KUNA
