KUWAIT: The Interior Ministry has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters, Inc (AHI), a subsidiary of Airbus Group, Inc, to purchase four civilian helicopters in the ministry's bid to upgrade its domestic security operations, a ministry statement said yesterday.

Among the four planes will be an AS 365 and an EC 225 type civilian helicopters, with training and operation instructions provided for these two planes, said the ministry undersecretary Lt Gen Sulaiman Al-Fahad. The four choppers will join the ministry's fleet of such planes which it had acquired since 2005, he said, promising more upgrades in the ministry's hardware over the next few years. - KUNA
