KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah has vowed that the nation will leave no stone unturned to support security forces in their quest to protect security. The Ministry of Interior (MoI) faces numerous challenges, particularly, the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for November 26th, a statement by the miniastry's Department for of Public Relations and Security Media quoted Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled as saying after he inaugurated the reserve website of the electronic security computer systems at the ministry.

Moreover, the Minister urged increased cooperation on the part of security personnel, saying that the ministry," will not tolerate any attempt to harm national unity." Speaking on challenges ahead, the Interior Minister urged the forces to take on all challenges, adding that the Ministry possesses all the capabilities and tools to safeguard peace and security. Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled also thanked the country's political leadership for their commitment to the nation's security through providing security personnel with the latest and most reliable methods and tools.

Meanwhile, the MoI's Undersecretary Sulaiman Al-Fahad said that mounting challenges prompt readiness and alert, as he called on security apparatuses to put forth the most strenuous of efforts to protect the nation. "The Ministry of Interior will be up to the task," he stressed In another development, the Kuwaiti Army's Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammad Al-Khoder has emphasized NATO's efforts to preserve global peace and security.

In a meeting with Chief of Staff of the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) General Werner Freers, Al-Khoder said that they addressed plans to boost Kuwait's military cooperation with NATO through joint drills and exercises. On Kuwait's ties with NATO, the Kuwaiti army chief described them as "exceptional." Moreover, Al-Khoder, accompanied by a Kuwaiti delegation, payed a visit to the headquarters of SHAPE in the city of Mons, 70 km south of Brussels.

Al-Khoder and his accompanying delegation visited NATO's main headquarters on Thursday. He met with Deputy Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Lt Gen Mark Schissler and senior NATO committee officials. After the meeting, Al-Khoder said he delivered a speech on the occasion and mentioned Kuwait's active contribution, diplomatically and military efforts, and rest of the international coalition against terrorist organization, mainly the so-called Islamic State (IS), including the transfer of military campaign center operations to Kuwait.
