KUWAIT: A citizen complained against her husband for beating and perforating her eardrum due to an earlier dispute between the two. The woman told Jabriya police that her husband beat her badly and caused the injuries mentioned in a medical report she submitted. A case was filed for investigations.

Caught on tape

A citizen documented the theft of two of his gas cylinders by surveillance cameras and gave the footage to Farwaniya police station. A security source said the citizen found two gas cylinders missing, and when he checked the surveillance tape video, he saw a man entering the house calmly, taking the two gas cylinders and leaving. Farwaniya detectives are investigating.

Blackmail

A citizen accused a man she knows of threatening and attempting to blackmail her because she rejected his interference in her life and does not do as he likes, and lodged a complaint at Fintas police station. A security source said the woman gave police the man's information, and investigations are underway.

Two rescued

A Syrian woman and her daughter were rescued by Salmiya fire department after they were trapped in their building's elevator. Firemen lowered the lift manually and got the two out in good condition.

KD 650 theft

A citizen was surprised to discover that KD 650 that was in his car was missing after giving a lift to a man from Adan to Abu Halifa. The citizen told police that while on his way, he stopped at a bookstore and took the Egyptian man in the car, and when the man reached his destination and left, the money was missing. Detectives are working on the case.

Property damage

A citizen said two of his friends deliberately damaged his luxury car by hitting it several times. When asked about the reason for their action, he said they wanted to make him upset following a dispute with them. The case was referred to South Surra detectives. Both suspects were arrested and sent to concerned authorities.

Hit-and-run

A child was hit by a car in Riqqa and rushed to Adan Hospital. The driver fled. The child's father filed a case at Riqqa police station and handed police a medical report stating the child's injuries. Detectives are looking for the suspect.

Intruder caught

An Indian man was beaten before police arrived and arrested him on charges of entering a house with intention to commit a crime. A citizen called police and told them he found a stranger in his maid's room, and when police arrived at the house, they found that he was beaten up. He said the maid had invited him. Separately, an Egyptian man told police that someone entered his bedroom while he was in the shower and stole a mobile phone and KD 500. Investigations are ongoing. - Al-Rai
