DOHA: Katara theater, an architectural aesthetic monument visitors to Qatar could see when visiting the capital, Doha, is an open-air unique theater called 'Jewel of Katara' for its creative design where Roman architecture meets Arab-Islamic art.

The theater considered the first open-air located on the sea shore, the only one in the world and opened in 2011, aims to promote the cultural dialogue and exchange of civilizations around the world.

The theater, located on an area of 3,275 square meters, was designed to accommodate an audience between 3,200 and 3,900 persons, as its maximum capacity reaches nearly 5,000. It was named Katara after the ancient name for the Qatar Peninsula. - KUNA
