KUWAIT: Nearly KD 185 million are expected to be paid to public sector employees as 'excellent performance' bonuses by the end of the current fiscal year, according to financial sources' estimations.

The number could double if bonuses received by oil sector employees are added, the sources said. The sources argued that it would be difficult to carry on with austerity measures in view of such figures. "Almost 99 percent of public sector employees annually get 'excellent,' 'very good' and 'good' performance assessments without being subjected to real assessment measures," the sources added. - Al-Qabas
