KUWAIT: The customs department imposed a KD 2.5 fee for a paper stating entry and exit of vehicles through land outlets, after handing the job to a private company. A source said this work was earlier performed by customs employees free of charge. Social media was awash with a large number of complaints by travelers because of this fee that benefits a private company.

Charities closed

Social Affairs and Labor Minister Hind Al-Subaih said 14 charity foundations were closed and their accounts were transferred for violating rules set by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MSAL). She said the closed foundations are: Abdelaziz Al-Zahem, Sabeeka Ahmad Al-Saqer, Al-Dawaser, Al-Siddiqa Fatima Al-Zahra, Kuwait Al-Khair, Al-Rabbaniyeen, Sahoud Al-Mutairi, Kuwait Foundation for Social Advancement, Arab Foundation for Social Values, Al-Aqeela, Joud, Kuwait Foundation for Family Development, Al-Baqiyat Al-Salihat and Beitak. She said the total value of funds in these foundations is KD 364,000.
