KUWAIT: A 29-year-old female citizen told police in Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorate that an unidentified person stole her bag in a five-star hotel when she left it on the table and went for a buffet. She said her bag, which is worth KD 400, was stolen along with its contents including her driving license, car keys and an iPhone 6.

Work mishap

A Bangladeshi cleaner was killed after his Nepalese colleague ran him over in Khaitan in an apparent work mishap. The Nepalese man backed the garbage truck without realizing someone was behind, until other workers screamed. They called interior ministry operations, but the man was already dead. The body was recovered and an involuntary manslaughter case was lodged.

Suicide attempt

An Indian worker ingested cleaning agents at his sponsor's house in an attempt to commit suicide, and was rushed to hospital saying "I want to die". A security source said a citizen found the Indian in severe pain with a bottle of a cleaning liquid next to him. The citizen took him to Farwaniya Hospital, where he was placed in the ICU after undergoing a gastric lavage. Rabiya police went to the hospital and received a medical report, and the Indian was charged with attempted suicide.

Car theft

Jahra detectives are looking for thieves who stole the contents of an impounded car in the municipality scrap area. A security source said a complaint was received by Saad Al-Abdullah police from a citizen who told them that when he went to collect this car, he noticed that its tires, lights and some spare parts were missing.

Smuggling charges

A citizen was taken to the criminal detectives department for questioning after he tried to smuggle a firearm and a wireless system into the country. Brother charged with theft

A bedoon man told east Doha police station that he was robbed by his brother and an unidentified person at Jahra stables. He said the two beat him up and took his car before escaping. The brother was called several times, but he did not respond.

Deliveryman mugged

Thieves robbed an Asian delivery man of an order and KD 14, along with his ID. The expat went to Taima police station and lodged a complaint. He said four persons attacked him and took the money and his mobile phone along with his wallet that had his ID. - Al-Anbaa and Al-Rai
