JORDAN: Kuwait Finance House (KFH) participated in supporting the 3rd Kuwaiti Relief and Medical Campaign in Jordan through its voluntary team which comprised a team of Kuwaiti doctors and consultants. The campaign is organized by Kuwait Red Crescent Society in coordination with the Jordan Red Crescent.

This participation represents KFH`s social role and its endeavor to enhance humanitarian activities at all levels as per the cooperation, support, coordination, and strategic partnership agreement signed recently by KFH and Kuwait Red Crescent Society.

The Kuwaiti medical team was able to perform, in cooperation with the specialized Jordanian hospital in Amman, more than 200 major and delicate surgical operations in different cases which required immediate surgical intervention. This contribution represents Kuwait's gesture of goodness to aid refugees in Jordan.

KFH delegation accompanies the medical team

Senior Manager - social media and PR Services Center at KFH, Abdullah Al-Saif, who along with KFH delegation, accompanied the Kuwaiti medical team and observed closely the patient's treatment efforts.

He extended his sincere thanks to all members of the Kuwaiti medical delegation and to the Jordanian officials. He also expressed his appreciation of the cooperation and coordination extended in this respect to achieve the noble humanitarian goals of this medical mission.

Al-Saif went on to say that this is the third medical campaign of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society with the support of KFH, expressing his gratitude to be part of the efforts to enhance humanitarian and social activities which reflects the humanitarian and development role of Kuwait in all levels.

Restoring Serina's sight

During the medical campaign, the medical team welcomed Serina, the Syrian child who restored her eyesight for the first time since her birth six years ago. She was able to see properly after a surgery performed by Dr Khalid Al Sabti with a team of Kuwaiti doctors and the support of KFH.

Al Sabti expressed his sincere thanks to KFH and the hospital for their efforts, as well as to the Kuwaiti and Jordanian Red Crescent Societies, saying that Kuwait was moved by the restoration of Serina`s sight which embodied the great humanitarian and societal role inside and outside Kuwait.

Social Initiatives

Al-Saif affirmed that the initiative to support the Kuwaiti medical mission in Jordan comes as part of KFH voluntary human and social efforts exerted inside and outside Kuwait. Support is achieved through a series of fruitful combined cooperation programs with the Red Crescent Society, with the aim of lifting the suffering of the needy people in society.

KFH voluntary team has participated, in coordination with the Jordan Red Crescent and Kuwait Red Crescent Society, in the supply and distribution of food meals to the needy people and sharing with them the Ramadan fast-breaking meals through the group fast-breaking (Iftar) initiative. Thousands of meals and Eid clothes were distributed to the needy families. Other events were also organized including the distribution of food baskets, as well as kids' entertainment and educational events. Gifts were also distributed.

Doctors during a medical procedure

He said that, considering the strategic partnership between the two parties, KFH provides support to Kuwait Red Crescent Society for the execution of aid and medical projects in Jordan in cooperation with the Jordan Red Crescent. Projects include the initiatives to provide winter clothing, medical aid, Kuwaiti doctors performing surgical operations, provision of a one-year food supply, construction of a clinic, and other social charity activities.

Two agreements with King Hussein Cancer Center

KFH also signed two agreements with Kuwait Red Crescent Society and King Hussein Cancer Center in Jordan to cover the treatment expenses of cancer patients of Gaza and Syrian refugees in Jordan as part of its social responsibility and humanitarian commitment.
