KUWAIT: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society(KRCS) has expressed its appreciation for the donations provided by citizens and private sector companies in the country and for their continued efforts in supporting humanitarian causes.

Maha Al-Barjas, Secretary General of the KRCS, said during a celebratory event for the global philanthropy day that "this is a perfect occasion to focus on Kuwaiti humanitarian and philanthropic work, especially when it comes to helping people affected from natural or man-made disasters."

"The KRCS has led important humanitarian initiatives since its inception in 1966 with more than 104 countries and humanitarian organizations from across the globe receiving its aid," she said, adding that, "We have also given help to 3300 families in need inside the country as well as to orphans and people of special needs." Al-Barjas urged all organizations and citizens in the country to continue their aid for the organisation to continue their humanitarian help locally and internationally. - KUNA
