KUWAIT: The Kuwait Shooting Sport Federation (KSSF) discussed several issues during a press conference held Tuesday evening at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex. Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations President Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi, spoke about several obstacles and difficulties facing shooters' preparations for the "Tokyo 2020" Olympics.

He said as a plan was placed to get the shooters ready, the skeet coach passed away early on, and recently the trap coach also died, yet training camps were held in Kuwait and abroad, thanks to the role of Public Authority for Sport and its Director General Dr Humoud Fulaiteh. He added that some of the difficulties that "we are trying to overcome is coordinating with the Olympic committee to approve officials of Kuwait delegation that will participate in the Olympics.

KSSF board members with qualified shooters

He said shooters are worried because of the letter Secretary General of Kuwait Olympic Committee sent to the International Shooting Sport Federation, doubting the existence of Kuwait Shooting Federation, and does not recognize that Kuwait shooting is officially represented in a federation that takes care of its affairs abroad, and this may affect that shooters' results as the case was before.

The Board of Directors also honored shooters who qualified for the Olympics, Skeet shooters Saud Al-Kandary and Mansour Al-Rasheedi as well as trap shooters Talal Al-Rasheedi and Abdelrahman Al-Faihan. The press conference was also attended by Secretary General of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Obaid Munahi Al-Osaimi and Assistant Secretary Eng Mohammad Misfer Al-Ghurba and Board Member Nayef Al-Daihani.
