KUWAIT: Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) will launch on Sunday its campaign against drugs, themed "Drugs are your destruction" via its news outlets addressing all segments of the society, particularly the youth. KUNA Director General Fatma Al-Salem said in a statement on Saturday that the enlightenment campaign is in line with KUNA's role and advocacy of social responsibility for immunizing the society and enhancing awareness among youngsters regarding drugs' hazards.

All state authorities and bodies, in addition to private institutions, have been "waging a ferocious war" against the scourge. Salem lauded a Cabinet resolution issued in the end of October, launching the national campaign for combating narcotics, in line with guidelines by HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, for the sake of protecting young citizens.

The government campaign aims at raising the awareness of this hazard and treating the afflicted privately, she added. KUNA through its campaign will broadcast news and photo items via all its outlets for encouraging treatment and backing other state bodies engaged in fighting the danger. - KUNA
