KUWAIT: The Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) has asked the Swiss Public Prosecutor to consider PIFSS as an aggrieved party in the court case against the former director of PIFSS Fahad Al-Raja'an, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister and Acting Oil Minister Anas Al-Saleh said during yesterday's parliament session.

There is a commitment from the Kuwaiti Public Prosecution to pursue the matter of recouping public funds from the absconding former director of PIFSS, in concert with the Fatwa and Legislation Department which has been entrusted by the government to retrieve these stolen public funds, said Saleh. He added that PIFSS has been instructed to provide the Fatwa and Legislation Dept. with all documents necessary and to contact attorneys' offices abroad to pursue lawsuits against Al-Raja'an for the purpose of recovering stolen public funds from him.

Meanwhile, Minister of Communications and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Essa Al-Kandari said that Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) has primarily approved using the aid of international companies to resolve issues in the field.

The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Social Affairs are coordinating with the General Administration of Customs to study and resolve the ships traffic jam in ports, Kandari said during the session.

Saleh noted meanwhile that the Audit Bureau requested implementing regulations on uninhabited lands and monitor the violations at these locations. In the same context, Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Ali Al-Omair said that the government has responded to 85 percent of parliamentary questions. He added that the government answered 2007 out of 2373 questions. - KUNA
