KUWAIT: Head of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Duaij Al-Otaibi said more than 420 shooters from 42 Arab and foreign countries will participate at the Amir's 8th International Shooting Grand Prix, which will start next Saturday at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex. Al-Otaibi, who chairs the organizing committee, said in a press conference held on Sunday His Highness the Amir's support of the Grand Prix made the championship one of the important tournaments on the calendar of the International Federation, featuring the world's most sharp shooters.



Al-Otaibi stressed Kuwaiti shooters' readiness to compete in the tournament, pointing out that the Shooting Club is also working on preparing its young players to develop their skills for future competitions. He praised the support of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah which contributed to the superiority of Kuwaiti shooters who were making remarkable achievements in the international events. For his part, the club's secretary general Obaid Al-Osaimi said that the Organizing Committee was preparing all fields to be ready for the competitions. He welcomed all Gulf, Arab and foreign delegations to the tournament.

The Head of the African Shooting Federation Hazem Hosni noted that the tournament will witness the participation of some of the best shooters in the African continent. Hosni pointed out that Kuwait hosted several Afro-Asian championships, noting the efforts of Al-Otaibi in developing the Arab shooting sport. - KUNA
