KUWAIT: The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Kuwaiti Ministry of Health officials met virtually to discuss sharing expertise to address public health challenges and combat COVID-19. This meeting was held as part of the US and Kuwait's ongoing cooperation in the field of health. Both sides hope that this meeting will increase the exchange of research and experts between the United States and Kuwait to improve public health.

The meeting was coordinated by the US Embassy in Kuwait, Adviser to the Minister of Health Dr Salman Al-Sabah, and Dr Qais Al-Baghli. In attendance at the meeting from the CDC was Dr Mitch Wolfe, Chief Medical Officer; Dr Rebecca Martin, Director of Global Health, Dr Heather Burke, Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa; and Dr Jay Butler, Deputy Director for Infectious Diseases.

The participants from the Ministry of Health consisted of Dr Salman Al-Sabah, Adviser to the Minister of Health and Chief of Surgery at Jaber Hospital; Dr Fahad Al-Ghimlas, Director of Public Health; Dr Qais Al-Baghli; Dr Al-Munther Al-Hasawi; Dr Gheed Al-Salem; and Dr Hamad Bastaki.
