KUWAIT: Kuwait's Acting Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Waleed Al-Khobaizi extolled the deep-rooted bilateral ties between Kuwait and Germany, tracing back to 1964. Speaking in a news statement on the sidelines of a ceremony held by the German Embassy to celebrate its Unity Day, Al-Khobaizi recalled Germany's position that backed Kuwait during the Iraqi aggression, highlighting coordination and consultation between the two sides on regional and international issues at international arenas.

He pointed to the upcoming visit of German Minister of State Tobias Lindner to Kuwait next Thursday, saying it would be an opportunity to discuss a number of topics and means of enhancing cooperation, and some regional and international developments. The volume of Kuwait's investment in Germany exceeded $19 billion, in addition to the private sector's investment, he said.

This shows Kuwaiti investors' confidence in the attractive and safe investment environment in Germany, he said, lauding Germany's investment in Kuwait. Germany is one of the most attractive destinations for Kuwaitis who visit the country for treatment and tourism, Al-Khobaizi stated. He extolled German's stance supportive to exempt Kuwait from 'Schengen' visa, saying that he looks forward to more support in this file. - KUNA
