Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) workers hand out food aid to Hadhramaut Governorate of the Republic of Yemen.

KUWAIT: Kuwait
continued its humanitarian aid for the people in need in different parts of the
world, and most specifically during Muslims' holy month of Ramadan. Last
Saturday, Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) handed out food aid to Hadhramaut
Governorate of the Republic of Yemen, which included Seiyun, Tarim, Al-Qat, As
Sawm and Sah districts to ease the suffering on families, and marking the
advent of Ramadan.

Director-General
of the KRCS Abdulrahman Al-Oun said that this project targets 1,033 families
with a total of 7,231 displaced and needy beneficiaries from the Yemeni people
in cooperation with the Humanitarian Response Network (HRN). Oun expressed
gratitude to all donors and Kuwaiti efforts that contributed to alleviating the
suffer of Yemeni people, praising the efforts of HRN in delivering the aid with
the cooperation of KRCS volunteers. He pointed out the importance of activating
all relief, institutional and individual efforts to help Yemeni people and shed
light on the humanitarian situation by providing the necessary humanitarian
needs.

Kuwait's
Ambassador to Malaysia Saad Al-Asousi launched the Ramadan iftar campaign for
the Muslims in the Asian country. Asousi said the campaign, funded by Kuwaiti
philanthropists, provided more than 11,000 meals throughout Ramadan. He said
Kuwait Embassy was distributing meals to Islamic Centers, senior citizens' care
houses, mosques, universities, Quran centers and Orphanages.KRCS was also
providing aid locally, ranging from health care to iftar meals. Maryam
Al-Adsani, Director of Local Aid Department, said KRCS was offering eye tests
and dental care for families in need, as well as distributing 2,670 meals on
5,000 families.

Meanwhile, Kuwait
Ambassador to Ghana Mohammad Al-Failakawi handed over Thursday $117,103 cheque
to the organization of education and development in the African country. Kuwait
Consulate in Irbil, Iraq, launched today a campaign to provide Iftar meals for
around 6,000 people for 10 days. Kuwait Consul Dr Omar Al-Kandari said the
campaign was in compliance with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad
Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's instructions to help the Iraqi people. The campaign, he
added, has been implemented in Irbil in collaboration with local partners.

Ismail Abdulaziz,
director of aid at Barzani humanitarian institute, said the campaign would
provide meals for people in need, workers and university students. Kuwait's
Consulate supervised distribution of food presented by Kuwait-based
International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) to 17,300 people in camps
for the Internally Displaced persons (IDPs). Kandari said the food supplies
were distributed in camps of Hassan Sham and Kharez West of Irbil. IICO
President Dr Abdullah Al-Maatouq visited the camps recently to get acquainted
first-hand of needs of IDPs. - KUNA
