KUWAIT: The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infected 719 people in Kuwait during the past 24 hours, as total cases since the outbreak started has reached 100,683, official spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad announced on Tuesday. Three patients have died in the past 24 hours, bringing the whole count of deaths to 588, Dr Sanad said. The health ministry had announced earlier that 682 coronavirus patients recovered during the past 24 hours, putting the total number of recoveries at 91,612.

The new infections were registered in health zones as follows: 187 in Hawally, 162 in Al-Ahmadi, 151 in Farwaniya, 120 in the Capital and 108 in Al-Jahraa. There are currently 99 patients receiving medical care at intensive care units, with the overall number of the confirmed infected cases that continue to receive medical care standing at 8,483. Dr Sanad added that up to 4,651 swab tests were conducted during the past 24 hours, raising the tally of such tests to 715,887. Dr Sanad renewed the call upon the public to take all necessary precautions against the pandemic; abstain from mingling and observe social distancing. – KUNA
