MADRID: A delegation representing Kuwait Municipal Council visited Marbella, Spain, to explore the successful endeavors and work mechanisms of the city's Municipal. Head of delegation, Engr Abdulsalam Al-Randi, stated to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that they discussed bilateral ties with Chief of Marbella's municipality Maria Angeles and a number of officials.

Eng. Al-Randi added that this visit comes as part of efforts to bolster relations between Kuwait and Spain's municipalities, and aims to promote cooperation between the two. Al-Randi added that Angeles welcomed Kuwaiti tourists, saying that they are provided with the comfort and ease they desire, as a considerable number of them own houses within the area.

He commented that the Kuwaiti delegation was given opportunity to examine Andalusian municipal plans and survey their relation to other government bodies to better preserve architectural identity and historical value. Al-Randi added that they were also able to look into eservices and study how it facilitates the process. He illustrated that in order for the municipality to better experience of sea-goers and prevent sea pollution, they established a multistory boat parking, where different services are provided in exchange of a fee.

Eng. Al-Randi further expanded on the municipality's investment in the environmental sector saying they planted trees all over the city, either horizontally or vertically, to compensate for loss in green areas. The Kuwaiti delegation, which also includes Municipal Council members Mishal Al-Hamdhan and Ahmad Al-Enezi, began their visit in capital city of Madrid on prior official invitation that was postponed due to covid-19 pandemic. - KUNA
