Kuwait Disabled Athletics team

KUWAIT: Kuwait National Disabled Athletics team returned from the UAE with 32 medals of various colors, after participating in the Shariqa International Championship and Fazza International Athletics tournament.

Member of the Board of Kuwait Disabled Sports Club Anwar Al- Mutawa said the team won 17 medals in Shariqa and 15 in Fazza. He added that 10 team members qualified including a female qualified to the world athletics championship to be held in London next August. He said those qualified varied between running with wheel chairs, hammer and discuss throw.

They are Hamad Al-Adwani, Ahmad Al-Mutairi, Faisal Al-Rajhi, Abdallah Al-Saif, Nasser Al-Saleh, Abdallah Al-Saleh, Mohammad Nasser, Abdelmohsen Al-Otaibi, Dhari Boutti in addition to the female athlete Basima Faraj. Al-Mutawa said club president Shafi Al- Hajiri was keen on participating in both championships to qualify the largest number of athletes to the international tournament, which is the most important this year. He said the club will participate in the Tunis International and Morocco International tournaments to qualify more athletes.
