KUWAIT: Vice President of the Deaf International Football Association Jaber Al-Kandari said he is trying in cooperation with DIFA to organize the first World Cup for the deaf in Kuwait this or next year with 24 countries participating according to FIFA rules. Kandari spoke during a reception on the occasion of his election to vice president of DIFA, which is under the auspices of FIFA.

Kandari said Kuwait has the infrastructure including fields and facilities that qualify it to host such a major event. He said his current position allows to work for having Kuwait hosting the first World Cup for the deaf. He hoped to receive support from the government through the Public Authority for Sport and Kuwait Olympic Committee as well as the private sector to make Kuwait the first country in the world to organize such an event.
