NEW YORK: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah met with Kuwait's delegation representing the country, to take part in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), at his residence in New York, in the United States. The Minister conveyed the instructions of the political leadership and the Kuwaiti people's aspirations to the delegation and stressed on the importance of following the principles of diplomatic relations.

He was keen to offer the newly appointed Kuwaiti diplomats, who recently joined the foreign ministry with the foundation of Kuwait's foreign policy pillars, as well as brief them on the initiatives carried out to protect the sovereignty and independence of Kuwait and its people's interests. Al-Sabah called on them to work their best to represent Kuwait projecting the best image of the country.

The Minister also listed, during his meeting, the main contributions of Kuwait to the UN, and the heritage of Kuwaiti diplomacy, going back in history for more than 60 years at this international organization. He also stressed on the importance of supporting international diversity, including the involvement in regional groups that Kuwait is affiliated to, working to fulfill the sustainable development that comes with the vision of New Kuwait 2035 and listed the main points outlined in the current UNGA session's agenda.

Meanwhile, Al-Sabah also met with his Burkina Faso and Malawian counterparts late on Sunday, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UNGA meeting - Olivia Rouamba and Nancy Tembo respectively. Al-Sabah discussed bilateral ties with the foreign ministers of the two countries and spoke at length about the latest global developments as well. - KUNA
