CAIRO: The Kuwait Office for Charity Projects handed out 21 houses to residents in Minya Governorate, Upper Egypt on Sunday, under a charitable scheme aimed at reconstructing houses and villages in some cities across the country. Acting head of the office Sara al-Mutairi, delivered the houses, with the reconstruction cost projected to be around KD 29,000 ($90,000), to the beneficiaries in a ceremony attended by Governor Osama Al-Qadi.

The project, which is funded by Al Najat Charity Society comes as a continuation of Kuwait's contribution in carrying out similar projects in cities and villages across Egypt. "This also affirms the deep-rooted and distinguished relations between the two countries," said Al-Mutairi, who voiced appreciation to the society for its continued cooperation in such charitable acts, which contributed to developmental projects that helped the needy in the country.

Meanwhile, Al-Mutairi also handed out money to 50 kidney failure patients in the governorate, as part of a cash donation drive, meant to help 304 patients in need in some governorates. The total donation sum is evaluated at KD 10,000 ($31,500). - KUNA
