KUWAIT: The Amiri Diwan's Martyrs Bureau is launching a campaign to immortalize the people who have sacrificed their lives to Kuwait, an official said yesterday. Speaking to KUNA, Undersecretary at the Amiri Diwan and head of the Martyrs Bureau Fatima Al-Amir, said that the campaign involves arrangement of a mural consisting of 1,207 pictures of Kuwait's martyrs, adding that copies of the mural will be distributed and displayed at all state institutions and public schools.

The mural will include a caption 'those are my children,' a statement uttered by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in the aftermath of the Imam Al-Sadeq bombing attack on June 26th.

This mural is in honor of all those who died for the country, said the official, noting the memorial plaques will bear photos and names of the Kuwaiti martyrs who had fallen for redeeming the homeland of Kuwait since the 1960s until the last terrorist attack which hit the country.

Amir said the purpose of this campaign was to invoke the spirit of unity amongst Kuwaitis amidst tension in the region. She hoped that the project will be ready by the advent of the national celebrations on February 25-26. - KUNA
