Kuwait reports 8 COVID deaths, 2,723 cases in two days

KUWAIT: Kuwait said 1,280 people tested positive for coronavirus while four related deaths were reported on Friday, while 1,443 people tested positive for coronavirus and four related deaths were reported on Thursday taking the total up to 314,569 and 1,787, respectively. The health ministry registered 1,156 recoveries on Friday and 1,087 on Thursday, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 298,485, ministry spokesperson Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad told a press conference.

The number of people hospitalized with the virus stood at 14,297 as of Friday, with 151 of them in intensive care units; up from 14,177 total patients and 146 ICU patients on Thursday. Some 22,107 swab tests were conducted over the previous 48 hours, Dr Sanad said Friday, out of a total of 2.65 million. He went on to urge the public to abide by health precautions, mainly social distancing, in order to help limit the spread of the virus. - KUNA
