Kuwait reports five deaths, 638 new COVID-19 infections

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health announced Monday 703 new infections of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), raising the total to 50,644. Deaths reached 373 with the addition of five fatalities. Official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a press release that the infections included 463 Kuwaitis and 240 non-Kuwaitis. Currently, there are 152 patients receiving treatment at intensive care wards, Dr Sanad revealed.

The health authorities conducted 3,351 swab tests in the past 24 hours, raising the whole count to 409,335, Dr Sanad added. Earlier, the Health Ministry announced recovery of 538 people from the coronavirus, bringing the tally to 41,001. - KUNA
