KUWAIT: Kuwait increased their medals to 65 at the Third Gulf Games, after winning the Judo's Under 60 kg gold medal and the Women's Futsal silver. The seventh day of competitions saw Kuwait Judo player Meshal Al-Ali winning the first gold medal in the judo competition for the under 60kg category, while women futsal team won the silver medal after losing to Bahrain in the final match.

Bahrain remained in the second place with 53 medals (19 gold, 19 silver and 15 bronze); Qatar -third- with 40 medals (12 gold, 16 silver and 12 bronze); UAE moved to fourth place with 34 medals (12 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze). Oman slipped to fifth place with 27 medals (11gold, 5 silver and 11 bronze); Saudi Arabia remained in sixth place with 42 medals (9 gold, 13 silver and 20 bronze).

Kuwait men's Futsal team officially won the gold medal Tuesday after beating Oman 3-1. The team had secured the medal after defeating Bahrain on Sunday 2-1 - collecting all possible 12 points.  Saudi Arabia won the silver medal as Bahrain took the bronze. In the 73 kg, Bahrain's Ramzan Dzavashvili won gold; UAE's Saeed Al-Naqabi took silver and Saudi Arabia's Suleiman Hamad took the bronze.

Ice Hockey

Kuwait's Ice Hockey Team kicked off their competitions with a win against Bahrain 9-1 and topped the standings on goal difference; UAE who defeated Saudi Arabia 5-1. Kuwait had total control of the match that was held at Kuwait Winter Sports Club hall despite Bahrain's players attempts to make a comeback. Chairman of the Winter Games club Fuhaid Al-Ajmi lauded the participation of the four gulf teams. This, he said, will strengthen relations.

Women's Futsal

Kuwait Women Futsal team were satisfied with the silver medal as they lost to Bahrain 1-2. Bahrain took the gold while the bronze medal went to Saudi Arabia after defeating UAE 4-1.

Hayat happy with fans support

Member of Kuwait Olympic Committee Fatima Hayat said the large presence of fans during the futsal matches is a major indication on the society's new vision towards women practice of sports and women now women are participating in several games. Hayat said "we now have women teams that are able to win medals, and now we celebrate the futsal team reaching the final and winning the silver medal.

Second loss for volleyball team

Kuwait volleyball team lost its second match of the competitions to Qatar 0-3 , meanwhile Saudi Arabia defeated UAE 3-0. This result places Qatar on top of the standings with 9 points followed by Bahrain with 9 points also, kuwait with 4 points, Saudi Arabia 3 points, Oman 2 points and UAE with 0 points.

Kuwait and UAE in the Basketball final

Kuwait Basketball team moved to the final match after defeating Saudi Arabia 90-73 and was joined by UAE after defeating Bahrain 78-74.

Table Tennis

Saudi Arabia's table tennis team won the gold medal on Tuesday. Qatar took the second place while Bahrain secured the third position.
