Kuwait sees 357 new COVID-19 cases, one death

KUWAIT: Kuwait listed 357 new coronavirus infections yesterday, in addition to one death which increased the country's COVID-19 death toll to 881. The new cases, which the ministry said yesterday were recorded over the previous 24 hours, raise total infections since the outbreak of the disease to 142,992. Meanwhile, the ministry confirmed 554 recoveries over the same period, increasing total recoveries to 137,625.

The number of hospitalized patients stood yesterday at 4,486, with 82 of them in intensive care units, according to ministry spokesman Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad. He further revealed that 5,572 swab tests were conducted over the same period, taking the total to 1,101,146. Dr Sanad further urged the public to follow health precautions, mainly social distancing, in order to help limit the spread of the virus. - KUNA
