KUWAIT: Kuwait shooting continued its winning ways in the Arab championship being held in Cairo, when shooter Afrah Adel won the women skeet’s gold medal scoring 71 hits out of 75, while her teammate Eman Al-Shamma, took second place and the silver medal.

Meanwhile, the gold medal of the team skeet competition was claimed by Kuwait’s Abdallah Al-Rashidi, Saud Habib and Zaid Al-Mutairi, while Abdallah Al-Rashidi won the bronze in the skeet individuals competition. Egypt’s shooter Azmi Muhailba won the gold medal in the skeet event, and Egypt’s team ended in second place.

Meanwhile, the 12th Arab shooting tournament began with Kuwait winning both the individual and team gold medal in the double trap event. President of the Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations Duaik Khalaf Al-Otaibi said Kuwait Shooting Sport Club is proud with Kuwait shooters’ achievements so far, as there are more events yet to come.

He said the shooting federation and club highly appreciates the major role of Information Minister, State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, and Director General of Public Authority for Sports Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and his deputies for their efforts in supporting Kuwait shooting and backing plans of the club be it technical or administrative.

Al-Otaibi thanked Egypt’s Youth and Sports Minister Khalid Abdelaziz for supporting Arab shooting, and thanked President of African and Egypt Shooting Federations President Hazim Hosny, and all technical and administrative departments and Egypt Shooting Federation, for the good organization and hospitality, and wished them success. Al-Otaibi, on behalf of Kuwait Shooting Sport community, dedicated those outstanding achievements to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, in recognition of their support and care.
