KUWAIT: Kuwait shooting team participated in the Arab shotgun championship in Rabat, Morocco and won five medals in the trap shooting as 116 shooters representing 10 countries took part.

The trap men team gold medal went to Kuwait’s team Khalid Al-Mudhaf, Talal Al-Rashidi and Abdelrahman Al-Faihan, while UAE won second place and Morocco third. As for the men’s individuals Talal Al- Rashidi won silver, while Khalid Al-Mudhaf took bronze while gold went to Mousa Alain. Kuwait women shooter Shahad Al-Hawal won the individuals bronze, while the team of Shahad Al-Hawal, Sarah Al-Hawal and Asmaa Al-Qatami won the team bronze.

The Arab Shotgun Championship was opened in the presence of President of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations, Eng Duaij Al-Otaibi and President of Morocco’s Shooting Sport Federation Dr Abdelazeem Al- Hafi on Wednesday April 4.

Eng Duaij Al-Otaibi said such competitions are important to prepare Arab shooters for International and Olympic competitions. Al-Otaibi said Arab shooting witnessed an important development especially at the administrative and technical levels, and emphasized the importance of cooperation between Arab Federations and its role in enhancing the game.

Al-Otaibi, in his opening speech said, as a result of efforts exerted by Arab Federations to develop the skills of shooters and develop their technical levels, many Arab shooters excelled in the continental and international arenas.

Al-Otaibi dedicated the achievement to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, government and people. He also thanked the Public Authority for Sports, and its director general Dr Humoud Fulaiteh and his deputies for their support of shooting and shooters. Eng Al-Otaibi thanked the head of delegation Assistant Treasurer Adnan Al-Ibrahim, and coaches who are with the national team.
