KUWAIT: The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters declared on Monday it would kick off the 22nd edition of Kuwait Theatrical Festival under sponsorship of Minister of Information and Culture Abdulrahman Al Mutairi on October 20 and proceed until October 29. The NCCAL acting secretary general Dr Issa al-Ansari said at a news conference that His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has constantly devoted care for the cultural sector.

Al-Mutairi is also the Minister of State for Youth and NCCAL Chairperson. Al-Ansari also noted that Kuwait is proud of its theatrical works for addressing social issues. The assistant undersecretary for arts at the council, Faleh Al-Mutairi, for his part, said the forthcoming session would feature competition among six theatrical works, namely 'Al-Hajeen,' 'Lenashrab Al-Kahwa,' and 'Tahera.' - KUNA
