KUWAIT: The number of Kuwait Television watchers climbed by 43 percent in October 2015, as compared to the same period of last year, a senior information official said yesterday. Yousef Mustafa, the Assistant Undersecretary for Television Affairs, attributed the significant rise of spectators to revamping the national visual service in terms of content, technology, employed in shadow of soaring number of users of electronic telecommunication devices.

Programs that have lured largest number of watchers are 'Layali Al-Kuwait,' 'Shai Al-Duha,' 'Al-Mubader,' 'Mawaheb,' religious programs and news casts. Employment of renowned personalities to present these programs was also a factor for attracting greater audience.

TV remains the most effective and credible means as compared to other media outlets, he said, noting that the national TV succeeded in increasing number of watchers despite mounting figures of people hooked to electronic social media devices. Kuwait Television is planning to present serious programs of content based on science and studies during the fasting month Ramadan. - KUNA
