KUWAIT: The Kuwaiti Government has submitted its resignation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a senior official announced on Saturday. The announcement was made by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and the Acting Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Dr Mohammad Al-Fares, following an extraordinary cabinet session, held at Seif Palace. Minister Fares said in a press statement following the special session, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, that the Cabinet referred its resignation to His Highness the Amir following declaration of the parliamentary elections’ results — in line with Kuwait Constitution. He added that the ministers adopted a draft decree calling on the National Assembly to hold the first regular session of the 17th legislative term on October 11. It was also referred to His Highness the Amir.
