Kuwaiti fashion designer Muntaha Al-Ajeel

PARIS: Kuwaiti fashion designer Muntaha Al-Ajeel took part in a fashion show held at the Arab World Institute (AWI) in Paris, with eye-catching heritage inspired pieces of her own design. In a statement yesterday, Ajeel expressed pride in representing ambitious Kuwaiti women at international forums and highlighting her success in the field of fashion. "The invitation to participate with an elite group of Arab fashion designers at the world's fashion capital is a new achievement for the Kuwaiti woman," she said.

Ajeel named the line, 'Our Heritage, Most Beautiful in Ramadan,' showcasing the beauty of Kuwaiti kaftans, which remains a symbol of Ramadan elegance in Kuwait. Kuwait is slowly becoming a leading name across the international fashion scene, especially as large fashion houses become more and more up-to-date with Arab-inspired fashion and as several Hollywood stars have begun to pick their red carpet outfits from Arab designers, she added.

Ajeel was awarded the Middle East Businesswomen fashion award, the Elegance Icon title, the Honors Award, the International Pioneering award organized by the American Leadership Development Association, the Federation of GCC Chambers and the International Emirati Group. The award is meant for expert business leaders, and it was the first award given to a woman leader in fashion. In recognition of her international fashion shows, she was invited by the UN to organize a special fashion show for some of the world's First Ladies. Ajeel is a member of the Fashion Group International in New York and a member of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce. - KUNA
