Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al- Jarrah Al-Sabah meets with British Ambassador to Kuwait Michael Davenport

KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah held talks yesterday with the American and British ambassadors on bilateral relations and security cooperation. The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that the minister discussed with the US envoy Lawrence Silverman key issues of joint concern, affirming depth of the relations between the two friendly countries. Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah, during the meeting with the American ambassador, noted the existing security cooperation with Washington, also underlining the mutual and continuous cooperation between them at the regional security level. Later yesterday, he hosted the British Ambassador Michael Davenport, holding talks on means of enhancing the cooperation between Kuwait and the United Kingdom. He also affirmed the depth and distinctiveness of the Kuwaiti-UK relations. In the meantime, Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem received yesterday in his office the British Ambassador Michael Davenport, as well as the Palestinian Ambassador to Kuwait Rami Tahboub. Senior officials at the National Assembly attended the receptions, which were held separately. - KUNA
