KUWAIT: The Criminal Court yesterday sentenced a citizen to 10 years in jail for raping a Bulgarian woman in Kuwait. The Criminal Court also adjourned hearing a case filed against former MP Musallam Al-Barrak and others until Jan 3 pending summoning witnesses. In another development, Kuwait court also sentenced a US citizen to death for bringing drugs from the US for trade in Kuwait. Also, a family court yesterday ordered a Kuwaiti woman divorced from her husband because he is too miserly.

Two Asians were arrested selling MoH medications, said security sources, noting the suspects were caught red-handed.

KD 28,000 stolen

A citizen reported that KD 28,000 in cash was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked outside a popular shopping mall.

Fire in a garage

MoI's Relations and Security Media Department said a fire broke out in a garage in Fahaheel over an area of 1,000 sq m, including spare parts and accessories. No casualties were reported.

Asian killed, others injured

An Asian was instantly killed and another narrowly escaped death when a winch outside a 43-storey building under construction broke and fell from the 39th floor, said security sources. Meanwhile, a 43-year-old citizen suffered from severe neck and left shoulder pain after his vehicle collided into another in Sharq while, a 22-year-old citizen broke his right foot in a collision in Sabah Al-Salem. Also, a 46-year-old Indian was rushed to Mubarak Hospital with a forehead injury he sustained in a car accident along Fahaheel expressway.

Absconding housemaids

Four absconding housemaids were arrested while in a Hawally café, said security sources.

Asians with fake visas

Two Asians were arrested for entering Kuwait using fake visas, said security sources, noting that the suspects confessed to paying KD 1,500 for the visas.
