ISTANBUL: Several Kuwaitis are taking part in a massive global art festival held at the Turkish city of Istanbul, which is showcasing the works of around 170 artists. The event has united people of different backgrounds, reflecting a sense of peace, affection and cooperation, Najlaa Al-Otaibi, the Kuwaiti participation's organizer said on Saturday. The group of artists aim to learn from the experiences of others from around the world, she said. Their art, which depicts the Kuwaiti culture, is being displayed in the form of sculpture and canvas, including paintings and Arabic calligraphy. Around six Kuwaitis have travelled to the ancient city - a bridge between two continents. Ibitisam Al-Asfoor said she hopes to gain an insight into the traditions of the artists from the 17 nations present at the exhibition. A number of literary and art forums, theatre productions and world music performances are being held within the event. - KUNA
