KUWAIT: Kuwait 17th Tennis Junior (J5 ALZAHRA) Championship was concluded at the Kuwait Tennis Federation Courts at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Abdallah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah International Tennis Complex. 15 females from nine countries and 27 males from 11 countries participated in the event. The closing ceremony was under the patronage and presence of Kuwait and Arab Tennis Federations Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Abdallah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Kuwait National team players Hussein Al-Shatti and Yaqoub Mohammad won the first place and the gold medal of the doubles final - defeating Amirhosen Kepadkho from Iran and Seth Sadikov from Georgia in two sets to one. In the men’s singles, Hugo Soares from France won the first place, while Nordal Clausen from Denmark won the second place.

For the Women Juniors Doubles, Munisa Ashurbekova from Uzbekistan and Renata Garaeva from Russia took the first place while Sreenidhi Balaji from India and Sahana Sanjeev from USA won the second place. Also, Munisa Ashurbekova from Uzbekstan won first place; Sahana Sanjeev from USA won second place in the Singles Juniors.

This is the first of four Championships for Juniors of both genders under the supervision of the International Tennis Federation, and will continue until October 18th. Players from various parts of the world will participate to collect ITF juniors ranking points. Kuwait’s Hussein Al-Shatti and Yaqoub Mohammad collected 9 singles points and 25 doubles respectively.
