KUWAIT: President of Kuwait Tennis Federation, Chairman of the Higher Organization Committee Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Abdallah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said all preparations are ready for Kuwait’s 8th Open Tennis Tournament 2017, to start tomorrow and will continue until March 14.

Kuwait Tennis Open tournament is considered the biggest tournament organized by KTF during the entire season, and it has an unprecedented participation this year in various age categories in addition to ambassadors and diplomatic core in Kuwait. The tournament includes 411 singles, 413 singles, 417 juniors singles, pioneers above 45, pioneer singles above 55, pioneers doubles above 45, men singles, men’s doubles, girls 418 singles, ladies singles and diplomats singles.

HOC Chairman Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber said the committee completed its preparations to ensure its success and bring it out in a way that is suitable for Kuwait and KTF. He said this year’s tournament sees the participation of all sports clubs who participate in tennis activities. He said the committee had to stop receiving additional participants and the registration period was not extended despite the heavy number of those wishing to participate due to the limited number of courts. He hoped the new facility “Sheikh Jabar Al-Abdallah International Tennis Complex” will accommodate all tennis players who wish to participate in the upcoming tournaments. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Abdallah thanked all those who contributed to ensure the tournament’s success including official sponsors. The tournament will be held at the KTF courts and Yarmouk Sports Club courts, and will be officiated by general referee Barrak Al-Jouhari, assisted by Omaima Mohammad Ghafeel, Adel Al- Mansour, and Al-Haza Hamdi.
