Kuwait: A ceremony was held on Saturday for honoring Kuwait's Coast Guards who have demonstrated dedication in fulfilling their duties.

Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and the Acting Minister of Interior, decorated officers and non-Commissioned officers during the ceremony, said a statement issued by the MoI general directorate of the public relations and information security.

The Coast Guards officers were decorated for their distinguished efforts and devotion while performing their duties, the statement said, also noting their continuous vigilance for protecting Kuwait's maritime borders and territorial waters, namely in the face of drug traffickers.

Security can only be achieved with the sincere efforts of the security personnel, Sheikh Talal said during the gathering, also emphasizing necessity to abide by justice and relevant laws while performing the duties.

The honoring of the officers is in appreciation for their performance and a motive for others, he said, urging the personnel to persevere for serving the dear homeland.
