In late October, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to remove Sudan from the list it had occupied since 1993. Prime Minister Hamdok made the comments during a telephone conversation with his Kuwaiti counterpart, according to a statement released by his office on Tuesday.
The two officials reviewed bilateral relations, with Hamdok briefing his counterpart on the situation in Sudan and the government’s steps to maneuver a transitional period in the wake of many challenges.
