KUWAIT: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) yesterday sent a relief plane to Sudan carrying 40 tons of humanitarian aid meant for the victims affected by flash floods. KRCS Chairman Dr Hilal Al-Sayer said the plane included foodstuff, tents and water pumps, adding that a number of other planes will also head to Sudan to help the fellow Arab country face the aftermath of the recent floods.

KRCS will coordinate with the Sudanese Red Crescent to distribute the aid urgently and to see the needs of affected people to provide them in the coming days, Dr Sayer said. He expressed thanks and gratitude to Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in helping to deliver the aid to affected people. Dr Sayer said KRCS has opened its door for donating through its website, calling people and the private sector to assist the people of Sudan. - KUNA
