BELGRADE:
National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem said on Monday that the Israeli
occupation continues its crimes because of the international community's
silence towards these violations. Ghanem made the statement before the 141st
Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Serbia's capital Belgrade.

The international silence increases despair and kills hope of the region's
nations mainly the Palestinian people, he said. This might lead to an explosion
of the situation and no one is immunized against its repercussions and effects,
he noted.

Meanwhile, Ghanem discussed with the President of the National Assembly of
Serbia Maja Gojkovic yesterday means of enhancing and developing bilateral ties
between both nations in various fields, especially the parliamentary one.

Both sides tackled issues of common interest, as well as talking over items on
the IPU assembly's agenda. Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti parliamentary caucus
MP Rakan Al-Nisf, members of the caucus MPs Ali Al-Degbasi and Safaa Al-Hashim,
and Kuwait's Ambassador to Serbia Yousef Abdulsamad attended the meeting. –
