kocKUWAIT: Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) said yesterday it controlled the oil leakage that occurred at a drilling rig in Al- Ahmadi oil field on Tuesday. The accident neither affected the production, nor inflicted any injuries, affirmed Imad Al-Sultan, the KOC official spokesman.

The leak happened at rig BWD-133 during a drilling operation and KOC teams of technicians dealt with the accident according to the Company’s standing procedures. In other news, the Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8) on Tuesday emphasized the importance of receiving the prestigious Corporate Social Responsibility award, offered by Britainbased Green Earth Appeal.

The award followed the issuance of Q8’s second Corporate Sustainability Report last May, which came in in line with the relevant international criteria, CEO Bakheet Al-Rashidi said in a press after he received the prize. It gives an obvious evidence of Q8’s commitment to concepts of sustainability and preservation of a work environment based on professional ethics, Rashidi added. He voiced pride that Q8 is ranked among the world leading firms in the field.
