Initiative in collaboration with Kuwait Food Bank as part of Burgan’s social responsibility program

KUWAIT: In the spirit of giving that defines the holy month of Ramadan, Burgan Bank collaborated with the Kuwait Food Bank and Relief to distribute Ramadan iftar meals among the fasting community members in several prime locations across Kuwait. This initiative came as part of Burgan’s expansive social responsibility program and its active role as an engaged corporate citizen and member of the community.

Hessa Hussain Al-Najadah, Corporate and CSR Communications senior manager at Burgan Bank said: “Ramadan is a reminder that unity and solidarity hold the key to a successful society where everyone is included and catered to.

That is why it was very important to include Burgan employees and engage them in this valuable initiative that represents the Bank’s culture and values of empathy, compassion, and proactivity. This Ramadan, we were delighted to collaborate with a successful civil society institution such as the Kuwait Food Bank, guaranteeing that our efforts made a real impact where needed.”

Mishaal Al-Ansari, Deputy Chairman at Kuwait Food Bank, said: “When we talk about the community, it is very important to remember that it consists of more than individuals. A healthy and balanced community takes into account the impact of corporate citizens, civil society institutions, and government bodies; and it is only when all members of the community collaborate can we achieve welfare and prosperity for everyone.

We are proud and honored to have collaborated with Burgan Bank, entwining our resources and passion for positive change, to deliver sustenance, reassurance, and happiness to those in need across Kuwait in Ramadan.”

It serves to note that the Ramadan Iftar meals distribution initiative is part of Burgan Bank’s annual Ramadan program to give back to the wider community as well as involve its employees in charity and humanitarian work.
