BEIRUT: Lebanese President Michel Aoun affirmed on Tuesday the deep bilateral ties between his country and Kuwait. This came in a statement by the Lebanese President during his reception of Kuwait's Ambassador to Lebanon Abdulaal Al-Qenae in the occasion of his tenure ending after 15 long years. He granted the Ambassador the National Cedar Medal of the rank of Senior Officer.

The Lebanese Presidency expressed its appreciation to the Kuwaiti officials' permanent support for Lebanon, especially in the difficult circumstances the Lebanese people went through. "Lebanon seeks the best relations with the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and wishes them continuing security, stability and progress," said the President.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Qenae said, "I was honored to meet with President Michel Aoun, on a farewell visit that comes after 15 years of service in this brotherly country." "These relations will continue under the supervision and guidance of the leadership of the two brotherly countries with continued progress and prosperity for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples," said the Ambassador. - KUNA
