KUWAIT: The Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) recently found that considerable numbers of citizens were involved in fake employment with various companies, while they actually lived abroad. In this regard, informed sources said that the cases were discovered through inspections and exchanging information with the interior ministry, namely the border exists department, which showed that considerable numbers of citizens were registered in private sector companies and were paid, while exit records showed they were out of the country.

The sources added that MGRP was currently making lists of the violating citizens and companies pending referring them to the public prosecution in a bid to fight fake employment. Moreover, the sources explained that MGRP was currently in process of linking its systems to those of Kuwait University, various private universities and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) institutes to prevent some students' manipulation of public funds by getting student allowances while at the same time being paid as employees in some private sector companies. - Al-Jarida
